Just Take My Hand
When a child is left in the dark and cannot find the light, fear often takes over. Hearing
a loving father's voice has a way of relieving those fears. Father's voice is soothing, reassuring and trust worthy.
When he says, don't be afraid of the dark for I am here, or follow the sound of my voice, you are confident that his
hand is there to take you to safety. So it is when a child of God passes from this life to eternal life. As your
Earthly father was there for you, his heavenly father was there for him. Jesus is our way back to God. He
took our place when he died on Calvary. He conquered death and holds the keys to hell and death. When he calls
us, we need not fear. Instead just listen for his voice, and walk through the valley of the shadows of death, knowing
that no shadow can harm or hold you. He is the light that shines into darkness and light our way home. Darkness
must give way to him, for both cannot occupy the same space at the same time.
Loved ones hear him calling you today. Follow his word, his voice and walk
the narrow path. Not a denomination, not the doctrine of men, or the lights of Broadway, but follow him. Slow
down and listen for his voice today. He is yet calling us to a better life and one of service. Know that everything
you have, everything you know, and even your flesh shall pass away.
As you watch loved ones being called home, let it be a reminder that life is fleeting. Your youth or beauty
matters not, for both will fade away. Riches too can not buy a seat around God's throne, nor your position, be it high
or low. Ready or not, one day you too will answer the call. Today is your day of salvation, and now is your time
to hear his call to service on your life. Don't delay answering the call, and if you do not know his voice, take this
time to get to know him, that when he says come, a stranger you will not follow. Cr. Ms. Alice
