A Father’s Call
Have you ever had a late night dream that caused you to question yourself?  Have you had your core shaken, because you were troubled and didn’t know if you were being warned of things to come?  Have you had your foundation shaken by a dream, only to awaken and find that it was not real?  When my Father called my name, I thought it was only a dream, but now I know that it was real. Life is but a heart beat, and is so fleeting.  Dreams are so unreal, but sometimes, they are real.  One moment you are laughing and the next you are gone.  I was flying through the sky with ease and no wings.  I looked down at the ground, and could not believe what I was seeing.  How could this be?  I can’t fly, but yet I was in the air. From a distance, I saw him floating down to meet me.  Who is this man, with skin so bronzed and tan?  Then I heard a voice that sounded like thunder, it called me to come up higher.  Should I try, or should I go back?  But he again called and said come.   His voice was so strong, but his face so gentle.  I hesitated for a moment, not sure of what would happen.  Then I reached up and he took my hand and I felt a change come over me.  In a moment and twinkling of an eye, my mortal body had put on immortality.  Oh what joy!  There is no pain, no fear and no wings are needed to fly. Fear not death my baby, for it is a step to life.  There is nothing but beauty, laughter and joy.  The streets are paved with gold, and the walls are covered with precious jewels. Don’t take anything for granted, and that includes life itself.  What we take for granted, can be lost in one moment.  Now I lay me down to sleep Lord, my soul for you to keep.  This body is just a shell, to allow you to feel, see and touch in the Earth’s realm.  Your soul is his to keep, so feed it well. Any moment, minute or day, he may come to call you to come home.  Live your life with Heaven in mind.  Keep your heart clean, that you may soar where only eagles and his children dwell.  When you smell flowers and none are in the room, know that I am with you every day.   Fly my little butterfly, fly high, that when the winds of God blow your way, you too will be ready and take his hand.  Fly my little butterfly flap your wings and fly high.   Not yet dad, I have things to do.  Know that it is not length of years that matters, but how you live your life.  Never say never child, because life is unpredictable.  Life in a circle is all that it is.  Cr November 29, 2012,  Ms. Alice B.
